From the moment we arrived, the place felt like somewhere you could instantly relax and settle into.
We spent the afternoon taking in the view over the bay, watching the light change as the day rolled on, before easing into the sauna which quickly became a highlight of the whole stay!
Evenings at Mabel's Lookout involved good conversations, fabulous food, a few laughs, and that calm feeling you only really get when you’re away with friends and not in a rush to be anywhere. By the time we crawled into bed, the sheets were soft, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything felt quiet and restful.
It’s one of those places that makes it easy to switch off and just enjoy where you are. We left feeling refreshed, already talking about when we could come back.

We had an incredible stay at Mabel’s — such a special place to unwind.
The woodfire made the evenings so cosy, and the sauna was a real highlight. The outdoor bath overlooking the water is also a beautiful feature and adds to the whole experience
We also brought in Marefold Private Catering for a 12-course dining experience, and it completely elevated the stay.
The home was the perfect setting — intimate, relaxed, and still really refined. It felt like a private dining experience you’d never get anywhere else.
We’d absolutely come back.

We stayed at Mabel’s Lookout for a social and training weekend, and it was the perfect venue.
The cooking facilities are top-tier—we had a private chef come in on Saturday night, and the kitchen handled everything beautifully. There is so much space for everyone to gather without feeling crowded.
Between the views of Apollo Bay and the amazing outdoor setup, we couldn't have had a better time.

We recently stayed at Mabel's Lookout with friends, and it exceeded every expectation
We arrived in the dark, so we weren't sure what the view would be like. Waking up the next morning and experiencing the picture frame perfection that stood in front of us was simply breathtaking.
What sets this place apart is the attention to detail. The kitchen is a dream for anyone who loves to cook, and we made the most of it. On top of that was the top-quality coffee machine which got our mornings off to the best start.
After a day of exploring the island, retreating to the sauna and the outdoor shower was the ultimate way to relax and finished our evening in front of the cosy woodfire. It felt incredibly private and luxurious. If you’re looking for a spot to switch off and enjoy the best of Bruny Island, this is it. We’re already planning the return trip.

A rare place that exceeds expectations
Mabel’s Lookout is one of those rare places that is every bit as good as the photographs and description, and perhaps even better. From the moment we arrived, we felt ourselves relax.
The location is outstanding. Just a few minutes from the Bruny ferry, yet completely private, with uninterrupted views across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. We spent hours simply watching the changing light on the water, and the evenings around the fire pit under a sky full of stars and bright full moon were unforgettable.
The house has been beautifully designed and furnished. Everything feels high quality, from the comfortable beds and luxurious bathrooms to the well-equipped kitchen, where absolutely nothing seemed to be missing. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to make guests feel at home.
The outdoor spaces are equally impressive. The sauna, stone bath overlooking the water, landscaped gardens, and spacious deck all make it very easy to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet. The fully fenced grounds were a real bonus, especially for those travelling with a dog.
What impressed us most was that Mabel’s Lookout isn’t just luxurious, it feels welcoming. It has warmth and character rather than simply looking impressive. It is equally suited to a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a relaxing break with friends. It even has a friendly kookaburra and wildlife that pay a visit
We have stayed in many accommodation properties over the years, and this ranks among the very best. If you’re looking for somewhere that genuinely delivers on its promises, Mabel’s Lookout is it. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about when we can return.
